Physio4FMD is a randomised controlled trial of physiotherapy for functional motor disorder.

Functional motor disorder (FMD), also known as conversion disorder, is a common disorder affecting movement. People with FMD can experience weakness or paralysis, tremor or shaking, difficulty walking and abnormal postures.

FMD is part of the spectrum of neurological symptoms that are not caused by a recognisable disease. Problems with movement relate to a disturbance in normal motor control and sensory perception.

The Physio4FMD trial is testing whether a specific physiotherapy treatment helps to improve the movement of people with FMD.
